FROM HOSPITAL TO PARISH WORK
Camillians in Tanzania apart from working in hospitals such as Muhimbili Refrerral hospital, Amana District Hospital, Dar Group Hospital and Yombo Dispensary, they also run parishes. Since the arrival of Camillians in Tanzania they have been working in hospitals and running parishes.

Camillians at present are running two parishes namely: Yombo – Kiwalani and Yombo- Dovya. In addition they run two outstations, Buza (which is soon going to become a parish) and Vituka outstation (a newly founded outstation).
Yombo parish (the motherhouse for Camillian religious in Tanzania) was the first to be founded by Camillian in 1982. For all these years our students and us, have been staying at Yombo parish in Dar es Salaam giving services to the sick and the poor, but at the moment, we are on the way to build our formation house at Yombo Vituka in Dar es Salaam, few kilometres from Yombo parish.

Apart from treating the sick in our dispensary here at Yombo, we also visit them in their homes. The existence of Yombo parish brought light and hope not only for the Catholics surrounding the parish but also non-Catholics. The services offered by Camillian Fathers were welcomed with joy for they were near to the people living around the area. Yombo parish was also the first to have its own dispensary around Kiwalani area. The Camillians teamed-up with Sisters of Charity of St. Charles Borromeo to offer services to the poor, the sick and the disabled around this area.
